GIG Income Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 26, 2026
1. Introduction
GIG Income respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the GIG Income mobile app, including its optional Mileage feature, and related support pages.
2. No GIG Income Account Required
GIG Income does not require users to create a GIG Income account or register with GIG Income to use the app.
3. No Connection to Gig-Platform Accounts
GIG Income does not connect to DoorDash, Uber, Uber Eats, Amazon Flex, Instacart, Walmart Spark, Lyft, or other third-party gig-platform accounts. The app does not collect login credentials for those platforms.
4. Information Stored in the App
The app allows users to enter and store information such as income, expenses, notes, platform names, dates, work records, receipt attachments, and mileage records. These records are created or initiated by the user and are used to provide tracking, history, summaries, statistics, reports, and other app features.
5. Mileage and Location Data
The optional Mileage feature can use Apple Location Services to record a work trip after the user chooses to start GPS mileage tracking. Depending on device permissions and available location information, a mileage record may include precise geographic location, GPS route points, timestamps, distance, work duration, and available start and end locations or addresses.
GIG Income uses location information for mileage-recording functions requested by the user, including calculating trip distance, displaying a saved route, identifying available start and end locations, and creating mileage history and reports. Location data is not used for advertising.
6. Background Location
When the user has started an active GPS mileage trip and has granted the required iOS permission, GIG Income may continue receiving location updates while the app is in the background so the trip can continue to be recorded when the user switches apps or locks the device. Background location is used for active mileage tracking and is not intended to continuously track the user when no GPS mileage trip is active.
The user controls when a GPS mileage trip starts and stops. Manual mileage entries can also be created without recording a GPS route.
7. Location Permission and User Control
GIG Income requests location access through the iOS permission system when location-based mileage features require it. Users may deny location access and continue using non-location features of the app, including manual mileage entry where available.
Users can change or revoke GIG Income location permission at any time in iOS Settings. Revoking location permission prevents the app from recording new GPS route information until permission is granted again. Previously saved mileage records remain available until the user deletes them or otherwise removes the related app or iCloud data.
8. Addresses and Geocoding
Where available, geographic coordinates may be converted into human-readable location information, such as a start or end address, using Apple location and mapping services. Address availability is not guaranteed, and manual trips may contain no GPS or address information.
9. Local Storage
App records are stored on the user’s device. This may include income and expense records, receipt attachments, mileage records, GPS route information, and related work data. GIG Income does not operate a separate GIG Income account system for storing these records on a VM LAB server.
10. iCloud Sync
If iCloud Sync is available and enabled in the app, app data may be synchronized through the user’s private Apple iCloud account using Apple services. Depending on the records stored by the app, synchronized data may include income, expenses, mileage records, and related information. iCloud Sync depends on the user’s Apple ID, device settings, and iCloud availability.
11. In-App Purchases
GIG Income may offer optional paid features and subscriptions through Apple In-App Purchases, including GIG Income Pro, Mileage, or bundled plans. Purchases are processed by Apple. GIG Income does not collect or store payment card numbers.
12. Support Communications
If you contact us for support, we may receive your email address and the information you choose to include in your message. We use support communications to respond to your request, troubleshoot issues, improve the app, and maintain business records.
13. Analytics and Advertising
GIG Income does not include third-party advertising. Location and mileage data are not used for advertising. If app analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or other third-party data-processing tools are added in the future, this Privacy Policy and the App Store privacy information will be updated as required.
14. Data Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We do not share user-entered income, expense, or mileage records with advertisers or gig platforms. Information may be processed by Apple services that support features used by the app, such as Location Services, Maps or geocoding, iCloud, and In-App Purchases, according to Apple’s applicable terms and privacy practices.
15. Data Retention and Deletion
App records remain on the user’s device, and where applicable in the user’s iCloud data, until they are deleted by the user, removed through app controls, removed through applicable Apple/iCloud controls, or removed as part of deleting the app or its stored data. Users can delete individual records where the app provides a delete function.
Because GIG Income does not require a GIG Income account and does not operate a separate VM LAB server account containing the user’s app records, there is generally no separate GIG Income cloud account to close for this data. Support communications sent directly to VM LAB may be retained as reasonably necessary for support, security, legal, or business-record purposes.
16. Children’s Privacy
GIG Income is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
17. Security
We use reasonable measures designed to protect information handled by the app and support process. However, no device, app, network, email, cloud service, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
18. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including when app features or data practices change. Any updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
